Family Owned and Operated since 1933

Lod Baxter was the first of several generations of his family, dating back to 1933, in the dry cleaning and laundry business in Fort Payne, Alabama. Lod's brother, Wayne Baxter, built the building at 601 Gault Avenue North in 1945. This building with a unique design of curved corners was sold to nephew Joe Baxter Brown in 1968. Joe purchased the Fort Payne Laundry and Dry Cleaners from E.T. and Gladola Holleman in July 1982. Joe maintained both businesses until 1984, when he moved it all to its current location at 817 Gault Avenue North. The business is now run by Joe's son, Philip Baxter Brown.
